The Vertex ADV Touring Textile Motorcycle Riding Suit is a 600D Cordura textile riding suit built for adventure and dual-sport riding, where the suit has to cope with long days, mixed surfaces and changing weather.

Textile rather than leather, with removable waterproof and thermal liners so the same suit works from summer through winter. CE certified armour at the shoulders, elbows and knees, reflective panelling front and back, and a full-circumference zip joining jacket to trousers.

Outer Shell

  • High-abrasion 600D Cordura textile shell — a woven nylon built for tear and abrasion resistance rather than the abrasion-only performance of leather
  • Reinforced impact panels at the shoulders, elbows, knees and seat
  • Breathable mesh panels at the main airflow zones for ventilation in warm conditions
  • Pre-curved sleeves and ergonomic panelling for a natural riding position
  • Reflective panels front and back for low-light visibility
  • Heavy-duty main zipper with a secure storm flap
  • Adjustable straps at the waist, arms and legs
  • Full-circumference jacket-to-trouser connection zipper joining both pieces into one suit
  • Multiple interior and exterior pockets

Armour and Liners

  • Removable CE Level 2 shoulder, elbow and knee armour, certified to EN 1621-1:2012
  • Dedicated back protector pocket fitted with a removable CE Level 2 protector, certified to EN 1621-2:2014
  • Removable waterproof and windproof liner for wet-weather riding
  • Removable thermal liner for cold-weather riding
  • Moisture-wicking mesh lining against the body

The two removable liners are what separate a textile suit from leather. Take both out for summer and the Cordura shell vents through its mesh panels; add the waterproof liner for rain and the thermal liner for winter, and the same suit works through the year. A leather suit cannot do that.

Textile or Leather?

  Textile (Cordura) Leather
Weather range All year, with removable liners One season, no waterproofing
Abrasion resistance Good Better at sustained speed
Weight Lighter Heavier
Ventilation Mesh panels, adjustable Perforation only
Best for Touring, adventure, commuting, all weather Track days, racing, fast road
Care Machine washable liners Wipe and condition only

If your riding is mostly track or sustained high speed, choose leather. For touring, commuting and riding through the seasons, textile is the more practical suit.

Size and Fit

A textile suit should fit with room for the liners underneath — try it with the thermal liner in, since that is the bulkiest configuration. Armour must still sit over the shoulder, elbow and knee when the liners are removed, so a suit that only fits with liners fitted is too small.

Available in standard sizes or made to your own measurements. See the size guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What armour does this suit use?
CE Level 2 removable protectors at the shoulders, elbows and knees to EN 1621-1:2012, plus a fitted removable CE Level 2 back protector to EN 1621-2:2014.

Can I machine wash it?
The shell can be washed cool and gentle once the armour and both liners are removed. Never tumble dry — heat damages the waterproof membrane and the reflective panels.

How should it fit with the liners in?
Try it with the thermal liner fitted, since that is the bulkiest setup. The armour must still sit correctly over the shoulder, elbow and knee with the liners removed.

Can I wear this suit in the rain?
Yes. The removable waterproof and windproof liner is designed for wet-weather riding. Fit it before you set off rather than at the roadside.

Care Instructions

  • Remove all armour and both liners before washing the shell
  • Wash the shell on a cool gentle cycle or sponge clean; do not bleach
  • Do not tumble dry — heat damages the waterproof membrane and reflective panels
  • Reproof the outer shell periodically to maintain water repellency
  • Dry naturally, away from direct heat
